Supersam continues to grow

In H1 2019, the Katowice-located shopping centre, Supersam, recorded a 3% increase in footfall on H1 2018, despite the larger number of non-trading Sundays. There are several reasons for this success – a carefully selected commercial and service offer, and a wide range of entertainment including the exceptional Super Summer holiday zone – a space located on the roof of the building where customers could enjoy music and movies.

- The constant enhancement of Supersam's commercial and cultural offer have yielded great results. The increase in the number of visitors despite the reduced number of trading Sundays is really good news. Supersam is currently not only an important location on the Silesian shopping map, but also a place associated with interesting events. Our Super Summer holiday zone, designed on the roof of the building, and replete with deckchairs and comfortable seats, is an important venue for those who enjoy cultural events. It also serves as a popular meeting place for people who want to enjoy the advantages of city life – says Piotr Krowicki, Marketing Manager at Supersam.

Summer on the roof

The Super Summer holiday zone, located on the roof of Supersam, is a popular venue on Katowice's cultural map. The program includes a summer cinema, as well as a series of ten Saturday concerts. There is also a relaxation zone with a view over the city center, where you can meet friends and relax on comfortable deckchairs. Super Summer was created in cooperation with the well-known cultural institution, Katowice – City of Gardens. All of the bands that performed on the roof of Supersam are previous winners of the Sounds Good city project. The summer entertainment and relaxation zone was designed by the well-known Silesian studio – Kolektyw Musk.

A cinema under the stars with fairytale screenings

On selected Wednesdays, films are screened on Supersam's roof. A good film watched while laying on a sun lounger under the open sky is a popular alternative to spending an evening in front of the TV. The screening of “La La Land” attracted as many as 300 people to the roof of Supersam to watch the musical.

For the youngest cinemagoers the special fairy tale zone, where iconic fairy tales from the Animated Film Studio in Bielsko-Biała were shown, was a big hit. Bolek and Lolek, and Reksio entertained the youngest Supersam's visitors as well as being 'a trip down memory lane' for their parents.

Cycling to Supersam

Supersam also doesn't forget about the lovers of two wheel or sustainable transport. The NextBike bicycle station, iBombo service station and an electric car charging station all opened before this year's summer holidays. The number of people using ecological cars in Silesia continues to grow, and at Supersam they can now charge their vehicle for free.

Supersam is a modern three-floor shopping centre, located in the centre of Katowice. Customers can shop or use the services of 70 stores and outlets, including restaurants and beauty salons. Furthermore, approx. 5,000 sqm of office space is located on the upper floors of the building, leased by companies such as Groupon, CitySpace and Jamf.

The property owner and manager of Supersam is Globalworth Poland.
